On February 23rd, the Sichuan Provincial Workers' Innovation Conference, sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Dazhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, was held in Dazhou.
The theme of the conference is "Innovation, Efficiency, Economic Cohesion, Intelligence, and Development". In the on-site exhibition area of the conference, 375 outstanding innovation achievements achieved by employees across the province in industries such as electronic information, equipment manufacturing, advanced materials, energy and chemical engineering, food and textile, medicine and health in recent years were exhibited. A technology for recycling and utilizing basalt fiber waste silk "was unveiled at the exhibition hall as an innovative achievement in the Dazhou Xuan fiber industry.

A basalt fiber waste recycling technology "was completed by Qu Shengtian, the person in charge of the technical center of Sichuan Juyuan Basalt Fiber Technology Co., Ltd. This technology is mainly developed based on the development concept of green environmental protection and recycling, and is a permeable brick, a basalt fiber ecological cement product.
After testing, the permeable brick prepared from basalt fiber waste meets industry standards, and its compressive strength and frost resistance are much better than traditional products. At present, this technology has obtained an invention patent. In the production process of basalt fiber drawing, fracture inevitably occurs, resulting in the generation of waste silk. The main component of waste silk is silicon dioxide, which is non polluting to the environment. However, its special fire resistance makes it impossible to burn waste for power generation after sanitation recycling. Therefore, only landfill can naturally degrade it, which is costly and a waste of resources. The appearance of waste silk varies, with varying softness, hardness, and length, making it very difficult to reuse. The same industry has not yet effectively treated basalt fiber waste silk.
